Thank you to everyone who helped out at the flower sale! We sold out an hour before closing, and it was a great success. Our profit will be very helpful towards enriching our meetings as well as hoping cutting the cost of the SWE Conference next fall! Thank you very much to everyone who helped prepare the flowers, sold the flowers, and most of all those who bought flowers and supported us. Happy Valentine’s Day!
February SWE Meeting
Thank you to everyone who came to our meeting today. We talked about some interview tips. Just a reminder, if you would like to run for the exec board (Pres, Vice-Pres, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, Fundrasing Chair), please email Grace. Also, remember to support SWE at the Valentine’s Day Flower Sale on Wed, Feb. 13 & Thurs, Feb 14 outside Boulder from 11am-3pm. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thanks to all who attended our cookie swap / meeting this past Wednesday. I know I enjoyed tasting all the cookies and it seemed like everybody else did too! As the executive board, we wanted to thank you all for a wonderful semester and all your contributions into getting SWE up and running at Loyola. Good luck with finals and have a wonderful break to everyone. We hope to see you all next semester!

Last Week’s Meeting and Upcoming Meetings
Thank you to all who showed up to our first meeting last week! We hope you will all strongly consider attending the next SWE meeting on October 3rd at 6pm. At this meeting we will continue to discuss a couple of upcoming events and fundraising. We will also be fortunate to welcome a representative from the Career Center to discuss some tips on writing resumes! Be sure to check your email for more information and the specific location. Loyola Society of Women Engineers Receives Grant from NCWIT
Thenewly established Loyola University Maryland Society of Women Engineers has just been awarded a Symantec $750 Student Seed Fund grant from the National Center for Women and Information Technology. Loyola SWE, consisting of women studying engineering, physics, and computer science, will use this grant to further the group’s academic success by creating academic and career resources.

Grace Hopper Celebration 2012
The Grace Hopper Celebration 2012 will be hosted in Baltimore, MD.
“The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a series of conferences designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Presenters are leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial, academic and government communities. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today’s technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.” (gracehopper.org)
